crime scene at Lindy docks sunday evening

I was curious if anyone knows the details of what happened Sunday afternoon/evening on the GSB. I was anchored with other boats in Hemlock, and we saw a SCPD helicopter land on the Lindenhurst village docks around 5-5:30ish. It stayed on the ground for around 45 minutes, then departed. Upon returning to Anchorage, we saw a Nassau PD boat, a Suffolk PD boat, several SCPD patrol cars, and a Nassau crime scene search van, along with technicians dusting a 28 Skater they had tied up between them for fingerprints, and taking photographs. Also were several detectives making notes.
Does anybody know what happened? There was no chatter on VHF 16 during this.
