I am replacing my pump impeller on my Crown Head toilet and was wondering if I should use any type of sealant on the paper gasket that goes on the cover plate.
You can put a small dab of grease on the surface of the pump housing to hold the gasket in place while you're putting the screws in through the brass cover. Other than that, no, you don't need any type of sealant.
