Anybody know the year that Crusader started to install full closed cooling on all it's engines? In other words, when was raw water cooling last available on Crusader?
I don't know the answer but you might check with Pleasurecraft Marine Group if the year is important to you. Post the answer if you find out.
Both my old 1988 5.7L carbeds and 2003 5.7L MPIs were full FWC, but the 1988 Owner's Manual for all models does not show heat exchangers on any of the photos of each model so FWC had to just be the most popular option back then.
I wonder if that could have been an option. We had a 1988 Silverton with 454 Crusaders. The blocks and exhaust manifolds were in the AF loop but the exhaust elbows just down stream of the manifolds were not. IIRC the oil coolers were not in the AF loop and had zincs.
I was thought I was told that as of about 2000, all Crusader engines came standard with full FWC? The reason I'm asking is that a friend is buying a 2002 with What he thinks are RWC Crusaders. I didn't think they existed.
