damaged boat due to badly fitted lift

I purchased boat lift from respected company and had installed by fitter (no longer in business) recommended by supplier. I now have damage issues to thro hulls due to badly fitted lift,resulting in engine damage due to restricted water flow to exhausts. Can anyone advise on who/how I can seek compensation from
