Hi you all,
just back from a wonderful 2 weeks vacation at the Delta, I thought about how good it would be to have an information system of everything...
Like which Restaurants are when open, good foods, good anchoring etc.
We where quite astounded how many places where closed in the mid of August. Down at Frank's Tract we couldn't find an open place, but at least a free-of-charge docking.
So my idea, doesn't look very new, would be that everybody in the forum list's his personal knowledge to a "central database", maybe a bit like "wikipedia".
If that is just an old tip what makes you yawning, o.k., anyway it would be helpful.

I think it's a great idea, and I'd love to link to it from our marina's web site (or maybe even host it).
 
That might work. Yes, this economy has been very hard on resort biz in the Delta!

I usually check with the Chamber website or make a telephone call for information. http://www.californiadelta.org/deltamarina.htm They do a pretty good job of keeping things up-to-date.

Dago, is Stockton where you keep your boat or where you live or both? How is the new waterfront doing? Have the finished the marina???? It looked close to being done when I was up there in early July.

I was at Ladd's Marina until 3 years ago, changed to Owl harbour for 2 years and are now under a covered berth at Outrigger, 3 Miles slough. Covered because La Paloma is steel, she likes to be dry!!!
Don't know nothing about Stockton, we went Georgiana slough, Mokelumne S & N, steamboat slough, sutter slough, frank's tract, fishermans cut, sacramento, san joaquin, petaluma river, san francisco, alameda, etc. Fun total, except San Pablo bay, where we had the usual turmoil.

Didn't mention the Restaurants where we dined: Petaluma, Central something, excellent food.
Walnut Grove, Anna's dining, good,
Bay view boat club, at Bradford island, members & guests only, great fun & food
Riverboat, great as usual
Spindrift, nearly empty at Saturday evening 730p.m., wasn't excited about my ribeye, 1/3 pure fat. but this can happen, spindrift is usually an excellent rest.

The active Captain looks pretty good to add the local knowledge. It allows tags for anchoring as well.
