We were out for four days two weeks ago and spent yesterday on the water.
This is a fine August for boating. Temperatures hit the mid 90's yesterday but a couple of months of warm weather had us well acclimated to the heat. There was also a light northerly or delta breeze most of time but not enough to make any sizable chop on the San Joaquin River.
The water is about as warm as it's going to get. We are seeing the usual amount of blue-green algae for this time of year in the usual places but it doesn't look like any of the bumper crops from previous years.
For me, the best boating weather runs from now until well into October. Looking forward to a lot of good boat time between now and then. I may be watching stragglers from the Perseids meteor shower from the transom seat in a few days.
