Well that article says SJ County's intent is to not interrupt law abiding houseboats and floating homes. It also says the proposed SJ County law is based on Contra Costa County's law. CCC's law is forcing really nice floating homes to be moved out of the county. These homes have permitted sewer hook ups and are built to the current electrical code. These are not the derelicts that one used to find around Bethel Island and now have moved to Mayberry Slu, Fisherman's Cut, etc.
Most folks think the CCC law goes too far, but if the surrounding counties don't have the same teeth and enforcement, that county will end up with all the derelict boats...... CCC doesn't seem to be in the mood to modify their law. [:-timebm]
