Vic, we have two Raritan Crown II heads on our boat that have have worked flawlessly for seven years. My wife and I were wondering why Raritan did not come up with a better way to finish the casting that shows directly below the bowl? I know this sounds picky but the rest of product is so nice and when you look at the bottom of the bowl it looks dirty. Just wondering..

Good question! I don't know the answer. About all I can say is that the Crown Head series dates back to 1965, when people were a lot more concerned about it "working," rather than it's appearance. In those days, an electric head that worked as well as the Crown did, was quite an innovation! I've thought about adding a white plastic liner to that area, to cover the bare casting that turns black after a while. It is painted white when it is built, but the paint doesn't seem to last in that area.
