Yeah, I know, not too many boats can pull up to the DB Country Club, but it is possible to be a boater and patronize the joint.

But we'll NEVER step foot in that dive again!

We were invited to enjoy brunch there for Mother's Day. We've had plenty of meals there before, but never felt the need to be a member.

And we certainly will never be one after our brunch there!

For such a "high class" place, you'd think that a quarter worth of orange juice wouldn't be a big deal to toss out, but nooooo, they had to play it cheap and it cost them their reputation.

We were a party of ten for brunch. My orange juice glass was served to me and I noticed a mark on the rim of the glass. Upon further inspection, it was red lip stick!

Now, I know how restaurants operate. And I know that things like caked on, dried lipstick needs to be scrubbed off. The usual dishwasher won't cut it.

Well, in an attempt to not embarass the member that invited us, I discreetly told the waiter about the foreign matter on my glass and asked for a replacement. He apologized and said that he would replace it immediately.

Upon returning it to me, he once again apologized and went on his way.

I picked up the glass to drink it and what did I see??? Residue from the lipstick! [:-yuck]

The NIMROD waiter tried to wipe off the lipstick and gave me back the same glass!!!

I couldn't believe me eyes! [:-irked]

Well, rather than embarass our friend, I just let the glass sit there and stuck with my ice water. [:-taped]

After our meal, I took the glass and approached the person in charge. I explained the situation to the mgr and expressed my dissatisfaction with their TERRIBLE service.

It was not only a terrible thing to do, but a health and safety issue as well. [xx(]

I told the mgr that I was going to file a complaint with the health dept. Which I did.

Sure, I got another apology, but as I told the mgr, words are cheap. ACTIONS speak louder than words! And the server's ACTIONS told me all that I wanted to "hear"!

So, if you are ever invited to the DB Country Club, be sure and check your tableware!

You've been warned! [:-skull]

DB doesn't have much in the way of food, so I guess they can get away with it. When places like Boardwalk Grill can thrive, that should tell you something.
