Do surveyors today take advantage of stored information in control modules like over-temperature, engine hours, or all other useful information?
I would think that this info could really benefit the new buyer.

Many don’t do any engine evaluation and refer that to engine specialists. IMO you should ask in advance what each surveyor includes in their work before picking one. The better you define what you want, in writing, the better they can meet your expectations.

It just seems to me that this info is there for the taking. It will tell if a motor has overheated, how long, hours at idle, at high speeds, etc. It is very useful info, and i am glad surveyors are using it to be able to do a better job.

A little off topic but you there is no wiggle room when it comes to warranty issues. However it gives the tech or factory a lot of good information if you are tracking an intermittent problem. I am glad to hear you are using this data Al. Take care. Bill
