I am issuing a personal plea to all boaters in our area to stop the politics and to help save our salmon and one of our great recreational opportunities, salmon fishing.
The Pacific Fisheries Management Council met in early March and deecided to close salmon fishing to commercial and recreation fishing on the California Coast norrth of Point Sur (just south of Monterey). The logic they are using is flawed! Fishing didn't cause the shortage of Klamath River Salmon, poor water management by the federal government did. Closing fishing won't restore the salmon!!!
