Ramsport, or anyone else - any idea where I can get new upper and lower tracks for my sliding door?

I'll check at work tomorrow...I've been on vacation for the past week. Likely, the door system manufacturer has gone out of business...or been sold. I have some info that I used for another boat brand and it may come in handy for you...I'll post tomorrow.

Mike,
You can call Bob at Beacon Marine. His sight lists rollers, etc for the doors, maybe he can direct you to tracks.

And call John Leeds at 717-684-4145
He is a go to guy from Trojan and may also be able to locate what you need for your model.

Not likely he doesn't consider our boats Trojans and doesn't have parts for our boats. I called and then dropped off the forum. Our Trojans are Carvers!

Trojan Express by Carver :-) No wood in the stringers and a more efficient hull design.

Correct solid built boat that doesn't pound in rough water or over large wakes! My boat is not badged by Carver also has never seen a Carver factory. I happen to like many Carver models but frankly my boat has very little in common with them it's built like a tank!

Ken, any word?

Guys, my 2001 356 has a very heavy sliding door. We have lubricated the track but that is only marginally effective and can be messy ( the kids toes find the track and they spread the lube all over). Does anyone have a solution for this problem. I can't imagine this door was so difficult to open and close since its inception. Thanks

About 4 months ago, I bought this product on amazonDOTcom. UMHW SLICK TAPE. http://www.eplastics.com/Slick_Strips

Just google slick tape you will find it.

It has an adhesive backing. It is the material that is on those TV ads for the sliding furniture dolly things.

I trimmed and cut pieces to attach to the both sides of the sliding track and door at the top and bottom of the door. It did take help to raise the door slightly, to attach the tape.

My 2001 466 has a similar door to what is on the 356, I believe. It reduced the friction by at least 80% and is still firmly attached after 4 months with no mess that all the spray lubricant I had tried.
