hi
Does anyone know if there is a dock or slip or marina near the Jones beach theater that i can drop off some passengers that have tickets to the show ? I'm not that familiar with the area .
Thanks
Bob

Bob,
Sadly there is not . U would have to bring a dingy... motor over to the beach. Then they would have to walk around . What could be something very cool is actually a pain in the ass !

Can you still use the Pavilion on the south side of Zachs Bay where the cable is tied ???

Why can't you pull in by fishing docks on the west side of Wantagh Parkway.
Then they can walk across the parkway.

Thats a long ass walk Dave. NEver mind ur crossing a parkway on foot ....

There are docks there and I even saw a boat in there...why wouldn't they let you drop off?
Sadly, I bet if you call them they will say no.

Thanks everyone - I've been through the area a few times on my summer run from Brooklyn to Fire Island - I don't recall ever seeing any drop off points on the way .
Is there anything close by ? like a marina public or private ? then they can take a car service ??
thanks

You can drop off at Gilgo Beach Marina or Cedar Beach Marina....and call for car service there.

Isn't tobay closer?
I still say fishing pier.

.....and you may come across a few dead bodies in there. :)

Its not that far. I do a 3.5K run there.
Corporate challenge.
Starts at theater, goes past fishing piers down bay parkway and doubles back.
So its probably less than a mile.
10-15 minute walk and you can walk over the parkway, there is a bridge with a sidewalk.
Look at the pic!

Depending on boat size there is a brick structure on your right ( as you enter Zachs ) its officially called the far bay building. It used to be a concession stand
,but has fallen to storm and age. you can pull up at your own risk and drop off but not recommended best is to let off at beach just to the left of building

Short Beach at the Jones Beach Coast Guard station is Marina close to the stadium.
Just inside the inlet on the east side.

thanks
I'll look into Gilgo Beach Marina or Cedar Beach Marina
Short Beach doesn't look like it has any docks unless they are the ones on the side of the CG station ?
I have an I/O drive so I can get in shallow water
The fishing piers look perfect but i cant tell from the sat pictures how high off the water they are
Maybe I'll take a drive out there by car to check these out

I would do Tobay before Cedar or Gilgo.
Much closer!

If you have an I/O ...... maybe check out that Pavilion in Zachs ?

Tobay is much closer to the Theater than Gilgo. Still a bit of a walk, but much closer.

I went past the fishing pier today... thats a no go. Its not set up for any boats going inside. I do not recc it .
