My insurance company says they need a dry survey before policy renewal. Boat is 10 yrs old. I was hoping to get the survey done when bottom paint needs refreshing. However, diver says it is in fairly good condition and would last at least a year more.
Any one have any luck getting the requirement postponed?
Perhaps a wet survey for the interim
If not, need recommendation for Haul out and Survey in SF Bay

Find a different insurance company. Not all require such trouble and expense for renewal or even a new policy. Phone calls are cheap.

Had the same requirement put to me this year. Changed companies and only pay about 100 bucks more (far cheaper than a haul & survey).

Most companies will be looking for a survey before or not long after you secure a new policy. Especially when owning an older larger boat.

Progressive was satisfied with an in-water survey on my 10 year old boat. And that was for new coverage, not a renewal.

Mike, Your pre-purchase on the Trojan that you had performed not to long ago should have covered you for insurance purposes. Not unless you wanted ed to bump up the total loss value. So i guess you had performed two surveys on the the Trojan in less then two years time. Is that right?
