Took the boat out for the first time this year. Started fine and ran fine for about an hour. Out of nowhere it started loosing power and backfiring and then it would die. I could get it started and it would idle and miss and when I gave it throttle it would again backfire and die. Somehow I was able to get it back to the dock and loaded on the trailer.
Before I took it out, I put in about 6 gallons of gas and added fuel treatment. It had about 1/2 tank of gas before I added the new gas.
After getting home, I changed plugs, cap and rotor, checked plug wires, changed fuel filter, checked timing, and adjusted the carb with a vacuum gauge. It seems to idle ok now but I hate to take it out and have the same problems.
Am I missing anything? It is a 350 w/ weber 4 barrel.
BTW, the only other thing I can think of is while we were at the lake, we were sitting around listening to the radio and we drifted into some shallow water and got the prop packed full of mud. I dug all the mud out, and after that is when it started to miss and backfire. I don`t know if this could be related or not.

thanks for any suggestions.
