Hello everyone,
I came here looking for some help on the boat I just purchased. I took it out on the water yesterday for the first time after a couple of days of tune ups and preperation. At low crusing speeds the temp stays at 160 degrees but when I give it some gas the gauge just keeps climbing to about 240 degrees. So i took my boat home and found a collapsed hose in my freshwater cooling system so I changed it. Also took the impellar out and checked for any signs of wear. I took the boat out again today and even at idle speeds the boat is overheating. I put in a new water pump in the engine and it seem to have helped a little but is still over heating. I believe the impellar housing is warped so thats my next step. Maybe by it not having a tight seal its not able to pump enough water up to cool the motor??!? Any other ideas on what could be causing my problems? Also how much water should be coming out of the middle of the propeller? Im only getting a lite trail of water when I run my engine with the freshwater clean option with the hose! I would appreciate any help!!
