Was at HD buying some stabil for winterization and saw that they sell Ethanol Shield. It claims to Prevent future problems from occurring due to ethanol in gas
Encapsulates water & Ethanol molecules and allows them to burn cleanly
Stabilizes gas for up to 3 years
Rejuvenates rubber and plastic components in the carburator
Ethanol Shield Creates a better bond between ethanol blended fuel (E-10) and 2 cycle oil. Anyone have any info on this stuff. It sounds like it could solve the gas tank full or empty questions. And to top it off its a few bucks cheaper than Stabill.

All the info online, even from the company that makes it, basically recommends it for small engine yard equipment and vehicles. Never any mention of marine use, which is where most of the ethanol problems seem to be. This is also the company that markets "Mechanic in a Bottle",which if used properly could revolutionize the engine repair business I guess. I would be very leery of these kinds of products.
 
Yeah, I'm not getting "Encapsulates water & Ethanol molecules and allows them to burn cleanly".

And the part about "Rejuvenates rubber and plastic components in the carburator". Those parts would have long deteriorated back with MTBE and no longer are used as fuel rated components...just as fuel lines were changed.

I think "being leary" is being nice.
