Just curious if any of you folks in NJ have ever heard of Redline Marine Liquidators. They are a boat broker in Oceanport NJ. What caught my attention is that they indicate they'll buy boats at wholesale prices.

This is fairly common in the used car world but this is the first I've seen in boats. Just curious, not really planning on selling right now but nice to know I could dump my boat if necessary. I did buy it pretty cheap so wholesale might not look too bad.

I haveseen there listing on Yacht World. He sells at very competative prices.. I was looking at a Silverton 34 Conv., most I have seen are around 180 - 200K. he has one listed for 163K.

I saw the same boat. All of his listings say "Price is super firm, trades accepted". Read thru the website and seems like a decent outfit. One owner shop. Just curious if anyone had delt with, or knew of someone who delt with him.

A friend of mine just purchased his second boat from Redline this year and has nothing negative to say.
The boats were surveyed, needed repairs taken care of and delivered to Long Island NY with no delivery charges.

The owner of my marina purchased a Blackfin from him a few years ago, and again was delivered in pristine condition.

I know a guy out in New Jersey who will cut a check for any boat once looked at. The ownership of transporting the vessel to the buyer is on the seller.

he seems to be a good source for buying a boat - but he offers below wholesale when buying

He has an '05 34' Silverton for $159,000. Good price. Also a nice 42' Jersey.

funny, the Jersey is what caught my eye. I am sure the trade in value is better if you're buying a boat from him.

Wondering if anyone has actually sold a boat to him and if so, how they found the value. I agree it is probably below wholesale. How does one find out what wholesale is on their boat? Kelly Blue Book for boats?

I contacted Red Line in Jan. about a boat he had for sale. His reply was rude and mean. It seems he didn't like the proposed offer that I had made him. I wound up purchasing a boat one year newer and better equipped for about $15,ooo
less two weeks later. PM me with your e-mail address and I will send you the reply that I received.

Boatman, I can't send PM's but my email is otutt(at)msn(dot)com. I would love to see the reply. I do see that on all of his yachtworld listings he insists that all prices are "super firm".

NADA guide dont properly cover larger boats. Their options categories dont apply. No diesel vs gas etc.

A couple of years ago I was looking to move up from my 450 Carver to a 53 Carver he had. He thought I was not a real buyer as I was interested in a faster boat in this size. Didn't want to show me his boat without a deposit first? After I bought my 570 Carver I called him back to really rub it in...We actually ended up in a friendly conversation. I'd give him a shot if I were buying - not selling.

Charile either likes your or he does not from minute number one. The boats that he typically has are all really clean and in good working order. Rarely will he take something on "trade" that he can not sell in a very short time. When you buy a boat from him the survey is for your own knowledge; he will not adress items unless they are over a certain amount (I believe around 3k). I also beleive that he works on the principal that he is sell at such a low price that most buyers are only concerned about the delta between the trade and the new pruchase. If the delta is right; and he like you, typically you are getting a great deal. And no I have never done business with him but I surely would.

BLACKDOG: CAn you tell me who this guy in NJ is who buys boats? Are you referring to someone other than Red Line Liquidators. I have a boat I want to sell.

To BLACKDOG:

You mentioned you know a guy who buys boats...are you referring to someone other than Red Line Liquidators? If so, I would like to get their contact info because I am looking to sell a boat.

Thanks,
