1984 350 260 hp needs new exhaust manifolds. How do you know which ones to buy and where from
 
From your description, it sounds like you have Mercruiser or Volvo. I would personally stay away from GLM and even Barr. Osco has always had a good reputation. You could always buy OEM manifolds but at a premium price. If you are running raw water cooled engine in fresh water or closed cooling, why do you feel the manifolds need replaced? Closed cooling engine manifolds should last the life of the engine with raw water cooled running in fresh water running a close second.
 
yes it is mercruiser it is leaking I have always heard they only last 8 to 10 years raw water cooled the motor gets hot at high rpm
 
Yep...you're due. Don't forget your elbows/risers.
 
personally, I think 8-10 years on a RWC manifold is really pushing your luck, unless you have the dry joint configuration. if you have a wet joint, your long overdue. For your setup there are lots of options out there, they have complete kits listed at (www.partman.com) that you can use as a reference. and like cwms said, don't forget the risers
 
OSCO is now Sierra. Same stuff, just re-branded. If you have somebody with a WM acct, you can get them shipped to store and the price becomes reasonable (in marine terms, of course). I have a season-old set off a junk engine. But they're too heavy to ship and keep the cost attractive. Sierra is now furnishing the graphite-type riser gaskets that used to be exclusive to MerC. Those "wet joints" between manifold and riser/elbow (and possibly spacer blocks) are always going to rust and eventually leak, but the graphite gaskets are far better than the fiber ones supplied by other vendors. Of the brands out there right now, I'd get either MerC or Sierra.
 
anyone had opinion barr verses sierra they told me Osco is not same as sierra
