Was just there this past weekend. Just follow the buoys in. You will be a bit disconcerted being so close to the sand bar on the way in, but at low tide I still had 6 feet under me about 20 feet from the bar. The actual entry into the creek is narrow and at low or high tide you will definitely notice the current. I was looking at about 1+ foot rip waves it was running so fast coming in. I just stay as close to the center as possible and go for it. If you are running against the tide, just throttle through. On the way out, coincidentally, it was a strong outgoing tide. I don't like that as well because the outgoing tide wants to push you beyond the channel quickly. Again, just look at what the current is doing and adjust with throttles and rudder.
There is a constant parade of boats coming in and out. You'll likely be following someone - just observe what is happening to them. At slack tide, you'll wonder what all the fuss was about.
Go for it, it is not a big problem. I've seen an 85' Hatt make it without any problems.
