GOTTA GET TO BETHEL ISLAND!
AIRSHOW 2007 COMING AUGUST 26, 2007
The Area's Greatest Aviation Celebration starts at Noon Pacific Daylight Time
BETHEL ISLAND MARKETING ALLIANCE, BETHEL ISLAND, CA - (August 16, 2007) - Just one day of celebration takes a whole year of preparation, and those preparations are underway for the Great Bethel Island Airshow, The Area's Greatest Aviation Celebration. Bethel Island's 2nd annual fly-in can be viewed along the "Margarita Mile" on the East side of Bethel Island over Franks Tract on August 26, 2007 starting at Noon.
This year several types of aircraft will migrate to the Bethel Island area to participate in the Show. These Aviators will fly their aircraft in an FAA approved, restricted area over Franks Tract. The pilots and flight teams come to entertain the community with their flying skills.
In 2006, this Airshow began with a flight demonstration by the Patriot Jet Team, the only private jet team in America. This year's event will be on a larger scale which will include several other acts of various types.
"What makes this event unique is that we foresee it as one Delta and our Island's major events" said Craig Lundborg. If you're asked to explain what the Great Bethel Island Airshow is, there's only one good answer - "you've gotta be there!"
This spectacular event starts at Noon with a flyby by a U.S. Air Force C-5 Galaxy, followed by the Patriot Jet Team. In addition is the U.S. Coast Guard Air Rescue Demo Team. Also appearing is Tim Decker with his Pitts S-2B and Ellsworth Getchell with his Hawker Sea Fury. The owner of the Patriot Jet Team and Air Boss, Randy Howell, will be coordinating airshow traffic and arriving by a twin engine amphibious Widgen that will be anchored at the show center on Franks Tract.
This Airshow is FREE. There is plenty of free parking on the island for families and their guests, as well as access to camping in RV Parks and Marinas along Franks Tract, which are adjacent to the flight line.
THE GREAT BETHEL ISLAND AIRSHOW will likely become The Delta's Greatest Event. For more
