Thanks Eric. Have you been through yet? If so any changes or worse shoaling than before? I was considering going offshore this weekend but didn't see any reports on the inlet conditions besides that the buoys were off station so I was a little leary of making the run until I knew what was going on there.

John- I only know of of a few guys with smaller boats than yours that went through. So, I reserve comment on whether anything in the inlet changed.
I haven't been out yet, as the fishing has been off by a lot and I actually like my boat on the surface!
I think the biggest concern is debris.
My nephew fished the WM Open out of NJ the week before Irene hit.
If you recall, we got hit with almost 7 inches of rain and there was a lot of flooding in upstate and in Northern Nj.
A lot of huge trees, branches and all sort of building scraps were washed out to sea.
My nephew reported that there were numerous SF boats that left under the cover of darkness and wrecked their running gear.
Apparently, there was a 'debris line' that formed about 30 miles offshore that was an accumulation of that flood debris. Didn't show on radar, but guys lost props, shafts, struts, etc.
I would guess the same would be off the south shore! [:-cry]
