As I begin to get the boat ready for the season (YES!!!) I have discovered my portable hand held fire extinguisher needs re-charging. Never having to get this done before can anyone recommend a place that re-charges fire extinguishers on the southshore somewhere near Massapequa? Is it worth the price or should I just buy a brand new one?

Thanks for any guidance.

I don't believe the small hand helds can be re-charged.... I always thought they were throw-a-ways.
It's probably more cost effective to just replace them with new ones. IMHO

Like Don said, I don't think the small ones can be re-charged, better off getting a new one. The Kidde fire extinguishers are a lot cheaper at Home Depot than West Marine, and they are the same thing just packaged differently.

I bought a few of the haltron extinguishers. If u have ever seen the mess of a standard powder extinguisher ... u might want to take a 2nd look at the haltron.
