Fire on Sherman Island

I wonder if this was near Mayberry Slu and that rif-raf living over there? Anybody have any info on this fire?
 
It unfortunately wasn't in Mayberry. I heard Sherman island, but we didn't get down that way this weekend.
 
It looked to be Sherman Island, west end. Some of the news stations had it on Sherman Island east of the Antioch bridge but it wasn't. A fire in this location happens every year. I actually went down the the marina to check the location out.
 
Thanks for the info folks. Any idea what caused it? A cigarette butt or ????

I drove through the "ash rain" on HiWay 4 Friday afternoon.

Sure screwed up traffic...
 
Flutterby....duck season ending in January ....what does that have to do with it. They maintain those ponds and area all year long! Believe me, I speak from 18 years of experience with them.
 
My first mate was really hoping that it impacted our resident Mayberry squatters, but no such luck. We did notice that some of the junk has been removed from the main section, and one of the barge remnants between last years addition (the motor home) and the main collection is gone. Not sure why, but we'll stay hopeful.
