First Official LICC Raft Up - 5/26-27

Ok, the Thunderbirds are coming to Jones Beach on 5/26-27.

So I was thinking this was a good chance for a LICC raft up.

Some beers, food, jets, and friends.

Since best place for this is Zachs Bay, we would need to stake our location and raft up. I would be willing to get there early Saturday and stay thru Sunday if anyone is interested.

Since I am now a dog owner and the water is cold, I need to be close to shore or I am gonna let him go on swim platform.

Normally Memorial Day I go to Watch Hill, but I am willing to consider going to Zachs for a change. Could also go to Watch Hill and leave Sunday AM and raft=up Sunday into Monday?

Thoughts?

I had one, I sold it!
I have Kayak now, guess I can use that if he sits still, but somehow I see myself getting wet.
I better bring my wetsuit.

I think I'm going up to Massachusetts to go fishing that weekend.

We avoid boating on holiday weekends, too many amateurs out there. Besides, we can see the Thunderbird show from our dock, plan on just hanging out there.
 
I think as gas goes up, the number of boaters will go down. Thats one benefit of higher gas prices.
 
Couldn't it also mean that fewer boaters will venture far away (Block etc.) and will instead spend more time in Hemlock Cove, Zachs Bay, etc. :) :)

That will open up the good places for us;-)

I call a fuel dock in Huntington today and Diesel was only'$3.14'

It's a non-issue for us. It seems to me that on the North side more than half of the boats rarely leave the dock anyway :)
 
Thats cause the North has so few places to go.
Come South for a visit!
 
Hey, you never know. It could happen.

Of course, we'll have to wait for someone to turn the water back on and refill the Great South Bay.

Maybe Rob can ask the town if they can top it off when they put the buoys back in.
 
Well the buoys make the water level come up cause they have those heavy weights on them.
So that helps.
That plus as they add all the boats, that helps too.
Then once Walter gets in and he gets on his boat we get a very rough chop, almost tsunami like.
 
ITs the displacment of the boats that raises the water... U guys know better..... The the weight of the bouys also weighs down the sand..... creating achannel ...

I agree Mark
But the Sand hole gets busy most weekends
 
I did not call him fat.....I just I noticed a possible correlation between Walter's boat, sea conditions, and water level. You see the mean depth of the aquasphere can be related to the glutonous maximus or the overly reactive and conducive flow of the magma in the undersphere of the lower half of the hemisphere.

You have drawn a conclusion that has not been proven and is only theorized.

One could also say that Cherry Grove does not start to rock out until you get your boat in the water, here again, you can draw conclusions, but are they really trully indeed related.

You still there..or did I lose you at fat?
