Thanks for asking Mike!

Yes, Belmar is still open and the current diesel price is 2.59 while gas is at 2.66 (732-681-2266)

I wonder what the weather will be like this weekend, may have to take a run down!

Englwood is closed also. Hopefully Pete is in the middle of dredging. . .

I've noticed my few times in the East River that the Circle Lines and the Water Taxis and such just dont care about anyone! I just don't get it!

If you are more maneuverable they will take advantage of that. But you see they look at the water with a totally different, commercial, perspective. You might think it is very rough but they don't because they have the weight and length. They will respect the rules of the road but scare the crap out of you if you are in a small boat and don't realise they really are paying attention.
I've had them pull in right behind us so as not to violate the rules and believe me if you change course and speed you will not only p1ss them off, you might get hit.
But when it comes to things like the circle line and the S.I. ferry, just stay away. Ok? Stay away. First of all there are homeland security laws that require you to be a minimum of 100 yards away. But for your sanity's sake, you really don't want to be that close.

Dan is absolutely correct - they will respect the rules of the road and actually give way - but you have to stand on your rights before they will respect you. Be safe out there - its possible to be "dead right."

They dont really do that do they??

"They" dropped a "Kennedy Fried Chicken" box filled with rocks and sand from one of the bridges onto my boat one year, hit just in front of my windshield.
