The Blue Angels are finally back. It seems like way more than a year since they were here last. Hope everyone is able to get out and enjoy them as well as the rest of the airshow, ship parade and looking at all the great boats out on the Bay. I love having lots of boats out on the bay. That is what the boats were made for and I really enjoy seeing them.

For me I will be out all four days. Thursday, Friday and Sunday out on the Bay with 20+ guests each day. Won't be anchoring as it is generally a pain with all the boats out as well as winds and currents around Alcatraz. I will be motoring around each afternoon with time along both the waterfront and Alcatraz. Saturday I will stay on the boat in the slip and enjoy the great view from the PIER 39 marina! [8D] We will go out Saturday evening with a few friends to watch the fire works at Pier 3.

Can't wait, this is my favorite week of the year!!! :D

Hope you all have a great time.

Kris

Wish I could be there! Have a great time and I hope you post some pictures for us all to enjoy afterwards!

The Blue Angels were practicing along the Embarcadero in the City during lunch today. It looks like they are still flying F18s, that's a 30 year old design now. When I was a young engineer at Boeing in 1980 working on the 767 airplane we had a lot of industry assist engineers that had just completed working on F18 design at Northrup.
I saw Fireboat Phoenix out in the Bay but I didn't see Fireboat Guardian at the Embarcadero fire station so I don't know if it is going to make it out of dry dock for Fleet Week.

Today was great, very few boats out and a couple hours of the Blue Angels. There were twice as many Coast Guard, Local Police and Coast Guard Aux as there were private boats out. Wind is supposed to kick up a bit more tomorrow. It has already picked up a bit since sunset. Wind wasn't too bad today.

Watching a cruise ship come in right now.

I had heard that the show was postponed due to the windy conditions by the Coast Guard. I guess lots of others heard this as well.

The weather only effected the parade of ships as far as I could tell.

Here are some pictures from the weekend.

The second to the last was from the parking garage and the last one was from the boat while in the slip. The rest were taken on the bay.

Kris,
For some reason your pictures did not show up on my computer. What format are they.

Kris,

I see the pics are on your drive C by looking at the pic properties. You need to upload them to photobucket or the likes. Instructions are on photobucket’s site, and then link them to here. When you get started trying, you will get lots of help here for sizing and such. Sounds complicated now, but really it is not.

Appreciate your efforts and anticipate seeing them…..I envy you guys that get to see this personally and always enjoy the pictures.

Thanks

Stan

It worked! The pictures are really great! They look like publicity shots, not those of an amateur photographer. Great job! Thanks for sharing.

Hard to believe that the guys I knew flying those things are retired now. Best of the best. Thanks.

There is no better place to watch them than on the water!

They'll probably be using them for another 30 years as there doesn't seem to be a suitable replacement for them on the horizon. Just like they used the A-4 Skyhawk long after the Navy pulled it from front line service.
