I am reinstalling a floor in a classic 1969 fiberglass Chris Craft. The old floor was coated in epoxy. The only rot was in areas that weren't properly sealed. This boat had also been left to the elements for at least 10 yrs. I have read it is a good idea to glass both sides of the sole. This is costly and time consuming. Is it really necessary to fiberglass to keep the new floor from rotting? I plan on applying at least 4 coats of WEST epoxy on both side, and ensuring all screw holes are sealed. Just wondering if that would be satisfactory.
