I am trying to figure out what is the best FloScan model to buy for my boat. I have twin, Chevy 350's, carbureted no EFI, late 70's block, Murcruisers. I have a Raymarine C-120 system so the GPS has a NMEA 0183 serial port for connecting to the 9000 series.
What I am looking for is information at a glance. I would like to have a gauge for each motor but from what I have been reading it appears the units just come with a single gauge and you need a switch to toggle the display back and forth for each engine. . Is this correct? Or do they come with two gauges for twin motors?
I guess with the “TwinScan" analog model you need to buy the RPM and GPH gauges/setup. (????) The series 9000 is a nice digital setup, but you only get one gauge and need to switch which engine is being displayed…right? Is this a hassle? I'm not thrilled with the idea of one gauge and a switch to toggle between the engines.
What's the best way to go? Is it easy to synchronies the engine RPM and dial both engines in for maximum fuel economy? I'm ready to buy but don't want to get the wrong thing.
