FOWH Weekend

Good,
If you go Wednesday, then you can help me get in Thursday night, chances are I will be solo unless I bring my girlfriend for the night :)

So the weddings have to attend on Saturday is at 11am back on land. For some reason I could swear it was at 4pm....then we took another look at the invitation. Oops.

Any thoughts on the best way to make this happen? Approximately how long would it take to get to Watch Hill from Seaford? Is there a way I can leave the boat for a full day if I have someone come pick us up? If not, do you think i id be able to pay for the slip, leave it empty Saturday night and come back Sunday?

Just trying to figure out the best move and still be able to come out there?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Yes, you can bring boat over, pay for slip, take ferry back.
No issues leaving it empty, plenty of people do it.
Just make sure you have a reservation so you have a slip.
Looking at your boat I am going to assume you cruise about 30mph?
At that speed, I woudl figure a hour from seaford.
Adjust accordingly.

If you leave you boat, please leave it unlocked and let us know where the alcohol is stored!
Thanks!

Things are shaping up and looks like we are a go. Leaving Freeport around 10am. Hopefully the weather holds up.

Thank you. Will definitely figure something out. Looking forward to getting out there, even if it's only for a 1day and 1night. But will try to get a ride back and forth from the ferry.

I think the electric was mentioned...what do I need to buy or bring?

50 amp 125 v male to one or two 30 amp females depends on your power needs.

Mantle,

As stated, I plan to depart Freeport around 10am. My plan would be to head south and run the state channel out to the Babylon Cut. I monitor 68 and 16 so if you want to connect somewhere along the way, just give me a shout. I am fueled up so barring anything unforeseen, 10am is a solid time.

Next question: is the pumpout working at Watch Hill? Just want to know if I need to stop before.

I was just on the FOWH website and was wondering what the different levels of individual membership were all about (general, bronze, etc.) but could not find any info as to what the differences were for each except the donation level. Does anyone have any insight? We generally end up visiting at least once a year and we have seen references to the organization posted and have probably gotten some form of info when we were there but never contributed or acted on it. They seem to have been very effective over the years and have contributed to the benefit for all, while this is still fresh in my mind I would like to contribute before I get distracted as in years past and forget.

The reference to the $10 reservation fee made earlier, is that just for the special event for this weekend or is that available throughout the season for members?

Thanks in advance

Danno,

The reservation fee is for FOWH members and applies to this weekend only. In the past, they have required a reservation at the event or pre-purchase of tickets, etc. Since they can only pre-reserve for two weekends a year and I think that they are limited on the number of slips they have, it is a way to ensure that people don't just reserve and not show.

As to the different levels of membership. I believe that it just has to do with the level of support for a worthy cause. You don't get any special treatment. I will say that if you are a supporter for years at a higher level and someone just joins at the lowest level to get an advanced reservation and there is one slip left, you win.

In addition to this weekend, they also do this on Columbus Day weekend.

Thank you I just joined on-line, the reservation item had caught my attention given the rules that are in place with the concessioner and the gov't - 2x a year is a nice give back to the organization.

Mark,
Pumpout was working memorial day and there was the pumpout boat coming around.

Place is prett empty today . The 3 other boats on d dock are pissed about the reservations. No idea who they are but Since they didn't walk over when I docked there's a nice chill when they try and speak to me !

Rob

Yeah I can see some fights coming with people docked early for weekend and then people show on Friday with reservations to take the slips.
I was really suprised FOWH got this weekend.

Okay so last annoying question as I plan this...any thoughts how I would get from watch hill to the ferry? Seems too far to walk from what I see on the map. Might have to leave on sat morn the way it looks now.

Mint - 10am sounds perfect. I can meet you at the state channel if that works best for you. Il be on channel 68 if you monitor that. My name is Evan btw and I thank you all so much for the good advice and help!

Anyone in D3??? if so, tell them to get their ass out of there :)
