Has anyone had experience with the Freedom Lift hydraulic davit system for a 3560. It weighs about 300 pounds with it's davit arms. I'd guess with a rigid RIB and 10 horse you would be about 550 pounds on back? They have a picture of a 3560 with the davit system on it, but am concerned about the weight being too much for the 3560. http://www.freedomlift.com/photo_gallery.php?index=46 is a picture of the 3560 plus others.
thanks

Todd;

best thing to do is call the mfg. ask them to put you in touch with the owner of the regal in the pic, even if he is not the existing owner. if you are contemplating a light RIB and outboard I think you are light on your #'s. check out the mfgs. specs on the motor, RIB, add fuel and a little extra as all the RIB mfgs. give low #'s for their products. unless you go with a soft bottom inflatable i would be willing to bet that it won't work for weight. you also may want to look at a pair of chocks that have a slide down the back that will let you pull the dinghy up onto them. less than 1K installed compared to the nearly 20k for the freedom lift installed. i have a davit and chocks on my swim platform and carry a traditional RIB on it. about 850# in all. it is just about all this boat can handle and the weight is carried about 2 1/2 feet further forward than the freedom lift.

I would say definitely too heavy.

Check the overall swimplatform capacity. You are likely talking about 50% or more.

In addition, the lift system drags under the swimplatform and as you know, when going up or off plane, the swimplatform almost goes in the water as is.

My system probably weighs 300 pds with dinghy and motor and that is just about enough.

No problem getting up or down on plane however, when going head to head with an exact same 3560 (Southern Cross) with no system, he beats me out of the hole by a few seconds.

Found a few pics of mine.

When first installed ... etc.
