We've done the outside to the Keys and the inside to Tampa-St Pete but have never done the inside from Naples to Ft Myers (Pine Island)

Any info would be helpful, especially about no wake zones, shallow spots, nice dockside resturaunts, etc.

THANKS !

sorry, the farthest i have been down in the icw was south end of sanibel

if you need information from there north let me know.

I'm good on the north, inside and outside and have been as far north as Tarpon Springs.

Been south to the Keys, but never on the inside delow the Caloosahatchee river.

Any help is appreciated.

i jsut pulled the charts....that area looks like it is real skinny water. i will be interested to know your finding from your trip.

Im not sure you can make that run. I think around Bonita you would run into some realy low bridges. I think best bet is comming out of Wiggins Pass and go back in around Big Carlos Pass then head up through to Ft Myers. Marked pretty good, Couple of no wake zones with a few decent stretches. Bunch of places in the Ft Myers area to dock & eat. Lazy Flamingo is my favorite, Salty Sams has a neat tiki bar. The Bridge on Sundays is crazy. Hope that helps

Thanks for the info. We draft 2.5 feet and hope to run down this weekend weather permitting.

Done Sarasota many times, looking for some different scenery down in Naples.

You can make it most of the way on the inside but it doesn't go all the way. You'll need to look at the charts but it's somewhere past Bonita that you'll have to go outside.

i hope you find different scenerary

let us know how you make out.

tiki -- funny you posted that...i was going to do the same thing in a few more days. i noticed RWS had been quiet.

I guess I'm not familiar with south of the Sanibel Light House, and I wonder if there is a way to go as RWS described. By the way' my boat is running again!! I think I'll wait for the water to warm up a little before I go north to the Mannatee River.

its not that i am not comfortable, heck i dive my marina sometimes only if i have to. if i am leasurly swiming i want nice clear water found out by edgmont or jewfish, etc.

I got Ya!! That would be a nice trip from Englewood. Stay on the hook at the River then head to Egmont Key or Jew Fish.

just save yourself the time and spend the night on the hook at jewfish.

Been out of town for awhile and off the board.

The weather didn't cooperate for our scheduled trip with our out of town guests, so we ended skipping out on a weekday and took them fishing at the old phosphate docks.

We do plan on trying tha trip again, sometime soon.
