There are now occasional boats slowly transiting the upper Hudson. I thought it would be helpful to post known locations where fuel is available in the region as many marinas lost their pumps or even tanks. Catskill Marina is obviously out as is Hop O Nose. I am unsure if the fuel is available/good at Riverview Marine on the Catskill Creek.

I do know that the fuel has been tested and is good to go at Shady Harbor in New Baltimore and their fuel dock has been cleared. While many of their docks are severely damaged, they have done an outstanding job taking care of boaters through and since the storm - I will be posting more at a later time. But for now, if you are up in that area and need fuel, they can take care of you.

I got fuel on Thursday.
Was told EPA allows 3 inches of water on bottom of tank!
Guy I got from pumped water out, tested, wasn't happy, pumped more and put in fresh fuel.
This was Bergen Point

I fueled up yesterday at Panco in Haverstraw Bay. Above ground tanks so all should be fine.

Years ago I worked for Montgomery Ward. In those days we had gas islands and one of my jobs was to stick the tanks. We had a 12 or 14' graduated wood stick that we applied a paste to on the lower end. The paste would turn a different color in water so we could see how much water was in the tank. The tank didn't feed directly from the bottom, so as long as the water was below the pickup we were good to go. On these tanks a few inches was permitted. Tanks--even above ground--will accumulate water from condensation.

So long as the tank is sticked and the water pumped out, any tank can be OK. Sounds like Bergen Point is doing the right thing.

Troy lock is shut down so your northern terminus is that city or Albany. I am not sure but believe that Rondout Yacht Basin would be operational, perhaps Lou's I further up the creek as he didnt look too heavily damaged from the flood. Boating season this year sure seems to have been truncated, I'm afraid...

Sadly the Tugboat Roundup in Waterford has had to be cancelled also :( ...
