I have a center console with an outboard engine. A couple of years ago the sensor in the fuel tank broke off inside the fuel tank. Now it get stuck against the screen and the engine stalls out when I try to accelerate. Can anyone tell me how to get the supply line out of the fuel tank, I would like to put on a bigger screen that could not get clogged. There is a large galvanized nut on top of the fuel tank and a brass fitting goes thru the center of that nut. The not comes loose, but it only comes out a couple of turns until it jams against the brass fitting. I'm afraid to force it. If I break something the only way to get the fuel tank out is to take the entire deck off the boat. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
