Fuel/water filters for Kohler

I own a 2000 Carver 326 with a 7.3 KW Kohler with a two fuel tank system. Does anyone know if and where they mounted fuel/water separators on this boat for the generator? There are two fuel lines, one to each tank but no evidence of a filter(s). There is a small (<1"x1") fuel filter on the generator but this does not serve the same purpose.

my 7.3 does not have fuel / water separator filters....I was told it had to do with fuel pressure and that the location of the genset pickup tube in the fuel tank made it less likely to occure than on the main engines ?????

The genset generally only pulls from one fuel tank. In general, it has a separate fueld pickup from the main engine, mounted much higher than the main's pickup. So water should not be a problem. I have an inline fuel filter in mine.
