I'm wondering how far from home you have taken your Carver? (On it's own bottom :-) I am comtemplating a trip to the Turks and Caicos next June. It is about 520 naut. miles down through the Bahamas. It looks like we would never be too far from land, and could go from marina to marina all the way there.
Anyone have experience with this?
Thanks for all opinions.

Mark.

1989 Carver 3607

1540 miles from Florence Alabama to Green Cove Springs, Florida in 2004. 16 days, on the hook every night, Total fuel used, 1500 gallons includes generator time every night.

Rod

ps: boat is for sale, listed in the classified section, we are moving up!

When we bought our boat we moved it from New Bern, NC to Washington, NC which is about 72 nm. Now, I might have beat that for a day's miles back in my youthful running up and down the river ski boat days but back then I was counting sunbathers not miles (-;

What you propose sounds like the experience of a lifetime. Do it and then post how it goes. I'll live vicariously through you. (I'm not sure I can afford the fuel I'd burn just thinking about it!)
