Getting all ones tackle and accessories over to the beach can be a chore. Some use large "beach carts" with 4 wheels and a wagon tongue to pull it. While nice that doesn't work real well for travel and storage for many of us who enjoy surf fishing. I use a 2-wheel cart that folds up. I carry a cooler, small tackle and a shark tackle box, sand flea rake, Ghost shrimp pump, PVC rod holder sand spikes, a 5-gallon bucket, hand towel, tools (pliers, wire cutters, knife, etc.) and up to 4 rods in PVC holders, on my cart. My beach chair has backstraps. One hand pulls the cart and the other usually has my large shark surf rod. My cart looks a little different than in this picture because it does not show the added rod holders. Those tires are great in the sand.IMG_0462.JPG
 
I should add that the cooler holds ice, drinks, bait, lunch, and catch, which makes for some interesting flavor combo's...not for the squeamish. <GRIN>
 
Ok, I'll keep trying and see if I can't get a few of y'all to admit you surf fish. I often get asked why I carry 4 - 5 rods over to the beach. My typical setup once I start to fish is two rods in sand spikes each with double drop loop pompano rigs. Another rigged for cutbait to use for reds or what ever. The last one is setup for casting with the target being blues, ladyfish, spanish, specks, etc., mostly shark bait but not the specks or larger spainsh. My shark rig is a custom built 13' heavy spin rig with a Van Staal reel that I spool 500yrds of 65lb braid on. I usually set my drag for 20-25lbs. I used to get spooled by large sharks with some smaller rigs, but this one has handled everything thrown its way. For the most part the typical sharks I hook don't make runs over 200 yrds before they settle into the fight. I did hang one that I did not stop until over 400yrds were off the reel. We then went back and forth exchanging about 30yrds of line. The dang hook pulled after about 20 min. I sure would have like to have seen that one. (BTW-- yes I know I paid way too much for a fishing rig to catch sharks. I'm very stupid that way.)

Nice cart setup Bill. A couple years ago I was fishing from shore and casting a large top water bluefish plug (no blues here, tho.) and something hit it immediately, thrashing around wildly...too fast to see what it was , likely a tarpon, not real big. but the strangest thing happened. It unhooked itself by unwinding the darn split ring! It wasn't gapped either. First time for that. Got the plug back, ring gone!

I wonder if somehow a lower test ring got put on that plug. Strange...
 
I've had my cart for more than 10 years in the salt environment and its still going strong, even the tires.
