generator problems

Whats wrong?
Change the plug(s).
If it's a kohler, most of the time it's the plugs fouling!
 
Barry is very good but be prepared for a charge just to make the service call.
 
when i press the start button i just get a clicking sound i am assuming its the selinoid but i am no mechanic
 
Have you checked the battery connections or condition? Sounds like my car just before I (hand meets forehead) realize I meant to get a new battery last week.

You may not need a "generator mechanic" , check what Kida said first. The only time I would get a generator mechanic involved is if it was not producing electricity, your problem does not require the big guns "Generator Mechanic", IMHO.
 
if you have a parallel battery switch, sometimes you can push that and it will connect all the batteries and give you more starting amps. Sometimes genny is on it's own battery and that may not work, but I think mine are all connected.

Also may help to run engine that charges genny battery prior to starting to see if that helps.
 
Depends on the Genset but I have a On and off switch on the side of my genset. One year the yard set it off and all the genny would do was go tru the preheat steps but never try and start. ( u hear clicks of the preheat heaters )

If its never been run for the season yet it just might be it.

post the brand and model .

Good points. To get mine to fully function from the remote panel, you have to do some bizarre things with the switches that are actually on the gennie itself. Learned that here as a matter of fact.

+1 on gennie make and model.
 
thanks for all the input pulled the genny out and took it to mts, I have dealt with them in the past and they have done a good job...
