My cablemaster worked intermittently, so I emailed Glendinning to ask about troubleshooting it. They quickly told me how to determine whether it was the switch or the board. Turns out it was the switch, which I ordered and received a couple of days later. I installed it today and it works perfectly.

I did not get any cheesecake.

To us old farts, 'cheesecake' is pictures.

I have to admit I miss my cablemaster. Had it on the other regal and this one does not have it. At first I hated it, thought it was slow and was just one more thing to break, but now I see how much room it saves and that is key. Though about adding it but it is a pricey upgrade and would require re-wiring the electric.

My electric set up is not the same as Hogan though we have the same boat, I would rather not have to save space in the engine room. Cheesecake/pictures I cant be that young, I have no idea what you are talking about! :-)

Hogan do you have a three wire or a six wire switch?
I have the 6 wire and I added a remote to the unit it was a little bit of a PITA but the three wire unit is an easy cheap setup
I just post a link for Allen you may want to look at it real cheap! I wish I had ordered the waterproof version maybe next time.

Bit of a project to wire but doable the three wire is a snap. The newer boats have three wire units mine is like yours but it was something I just wanted so I made it up using a couple or relays.

I don't have any need for it to be remotely controlled.

I found it was a pain in the neck and usually took two people one to press and hold the button and the other to walk out/in the line. The other option was to coil out a bunch then walk it out and go back and either add or retract some. The remote just makes it easy for one person. I guess if you are always in the same place you can simply mark the line to know how much to let out. I like gadgets it was something I had to have!
