Going out this weekend!

This is the absolute best time to be on the delta by far. A little cooler, no wind (generally), beautiful sunsets and best of all....no people. In October and November, other than a few fisherman, you have the place to yourself. I will be up there soon

yes it is (and it was)... and then we drove the car to Gustis for dinner then we got treated to the lightning show & rain. We had everything last weekend.

Great place.....Guisti's...good food, nice folks, lots of hats on the ceiling...good red wine with lunch and a place to tie up out front on the river....what more could you ask. A delta legend.

Still have never been to Giusti's. The few times I've gone by there by boat, the smallish guest dock was always full. Need to use the asphalt slough.

This time of year there will be plenty of dock space. We still favor Wimpys.

I wish Wimpy's would put something soft on the side of their docks. I almost always leave there with a new mark on the side of my boat. The current tends to rip there.

I avoid the place because of that dock.

I usually get a mark no matter where I dock. A little Magic Eraser and poof, it's gone.

My cove is socked in with weeds, so I guess that ends my boating for the year. I thought the high taxes I pay should cover the removal of the weeds, but apparently the only thing it covers is the removal of my money into the politician's pockets.

Not to mention the handy mussel control "fee" they tacked on to this years tags.

I really wouldn't mind paying these taxes if the money went towards what it was actually for instead of getting sucked into the general slush fund.

The mussel control fee was optional. They made it look mandatory but if you read the fine print it's only necessary on trailerable boats going to lakes. If, like me, your boat never leaves the Delta you don't have to pay it. Looking around at boats in our marina I can see a lot of people were fooled into paying a 'tax' they didn't have to pay!
