Time to take the wrap off the boat and get busy waxing.

I have a feeling it's gonna be a 3 advil Saturday night for me!

Finished putting in the underwater lights, just needs bottom paint, a quick visit from the diesel mechanic and I'm good to go.

You're going to wax the hull yourself? That's one thing I gave up as a do it yourself job when I moved up in size, the hull is too high up to work on...

I should finish up this weekend and get launched Wednesday.

I'll be sitting on my aft deck, with a cooler of ice cold beer, watching everyone on land running around like crazy trying to get their boats ready!

I'll be sitting at home on my porch.

Jon - What lights did you go with?

He always does. I believe there was one year I beat everyone in. We were actually launced in March. This year? Not happening. Still wrapped, no water to wash the boat, and mud all over the place.

I'll have a hook out at Croton thru Sunday. Anybody can stop by and tie up. Channel 69 on the VHF.

John, maybe we'll see you over there...

The more the merrier Mike!

If you come over we can plot the overthrow of BE ;)

I will be on the boat, going to Baltimore Inner Harbor for a few days. Rough.

Anyone want to come up and help paint the bottom of a 24' boat that is still on the trailer? (That's what I will be doing!)

Two weeks and counting (with a little luck!)

I was at the club until 9:30 last night. As best as I could tell, there were zero boats over at Croton Point. It was a very beautiful evening though.

Look out here tonight and you'll see at least one!

Peaceful...

Jonathan I'm with you. I knocked down the shrink wrap and the framing, got that home and put away, and then washed the boat down. Only two advil. Today I wax the hull... Monday morning ain't gonna be pleasant.
What's even more fun about this is the silt that was left behind by the flood is either muddy, slick like ice, or dust kicking up.

A little brisk this morning anchored out in Croton but sitting up in the bridge with a fresh cup of coffee watching the birds fly and the fishing boats fishing, the dog at my side and the admiral getting a few extra hours of sleep, priceless!

Have a great day waxing! ;)

Thanks John,

SOme bilge work and metal prep.

Took the wrap off her yesterday. Forgot how good she looks!!!!

Jonathan, you may forget but ain't it sweet to get to remember! These are the days which make you grateful for the days of winter, without them you wouldn't fully appreciate what we have on our doorstep.

Now if the Rondout Creek would recall some of this floatsam we could do away with headache #1 [:-ouch]

"What on earth am I doing here at the computer?" See ya'll later.....G

Geo-
We are going to work on that right away! In fact next sat. with luck we'll join the wet crowd. Ooops. some might call us flotsam? Annnyyyywayyyyyyy......

Indeed the weather was fantastic today. There's this sailboat jammed in next to us so hopefully it will move soon. Only 10 feet of hull left to wax. Actually I'm glad I started working out again (light weights nothing serious just burning off some "Floatation Assistance Tissue" because well, waxing without power tools is a chore. But the waterline is scrubbed and we're ready to hit the bald spots int the bottom paint once the power comes on again. The flood knocked that out also.
But a half a gallon of wax later we climbed up on the bridge with a glass of red wine and a cigar. We may have been "hard up" but it was good none the less.
The pace is finally starting to pick up here at RYB. They launched the barge plus a few others yesterday and that is encouraging!
I have to admit as a boat owner this is probably one of the best weekends you could ask for.
