Got my photos of our Sausalito trip posted

Nice Connie! There are quite a few of these boats on Delta waters.

There are lots of places to go. I like the central Delta along the San Joaquin River.

Great pictures. Thanks for sharing.
You were very lucky to find such a windless day in Sausalito. I keep my boat there and very rarely we have a day like the one you had.

I have enjoyed many cruises up the river, to Montezuma Slough and on up Suisun Slough. You can stay at Suisun Yacht Club if your a PICYA Club member or the city docks. And the town is right there near the city docks.

You might want to traverse Suisun Slough at mid-to-high tide. The water can be skinny at low tide and nonexistent outside of the channel!

Nice shots, BR2. I like how the site depicts the GPS location in the side window.

Thanks all.

We had a trailer boat for a number of years and launched out of Suisun, Rio Vista and over by Perrys (other side of the bridge) made numerous runs from Rio Vista to the I5 bridge plus countless trips to Lake Berryessa. After ten years away from boating I got back into it.

This time no towing. Just sit on the hook and tinker while the wife fishes. If it was not for her love of fishing I would not have an old woody.

Since we are out of Vallejo I was looking for North Bay stuff. The Delta is 30 plus miles and a lot of gas to the edge of it. So we are looking for new stuff in this area first. Perhaps in a few years we will move the boat to the Delta for a few months.

When I get some time I've got a photo shoot of a trip from the Napa Valley Marina to San Pablo on a very clam day. I'll post a heads up when I get them on-line. It's cool to show the locations on Google Maps to our family on the East Coast and friend in the EU.

Well hope to meet up with some of you in the near future.

Great looking boat. Looks like a great trip. Looks like you might keep your boat at Oxbow. We are getting ready to head to Oxbow next week. Looking forward to some warmer weather.

Just FYI, that Lighthouse by Point Richmond is the Brothers, now a B&B. You got some excellent weather for your trip.

Very nice. Thanks for sharing.

All boats are bow in. Is that a law?

No such law in CA. Tradition and/or marina preference is usually followed. A marina may have their preference posted on signs at the dock. Stern in is often preferred to accommodate more boats along a dock w/o fingers. I've never seen bow in as a preference. I wonder what condition makes that a preference?

I took a closer look at the pictures. Yes, most places with slips and fingers between each slip is configured to be bow in. One can board from the side gunnel or from the swim platform, depending on the boat's configuration. It is the most popular configuration in CA.
