Grand Cay, or Rosie's Place

Anyone been there in 2012? Curious it looks like an off the beaten path sort of place that could be a worthwhile stop.

Dan what are fuel prices in the abacos and Exumas right now? Any idea what Hurricane hole is charging?

From Explorer Charts Chatter: "The lowest fuel prices reported were at Lyford Cay Club; diesel $5.28, gasoline $5.55."

They just updated marina fuel and dockage survey data.

Both HUricane hole and harbor club where around 5.5 last week. Harbor club had a discount for cash, around 0.15 I think..

Grand Cay diesnt ring a bell, where is it?

Grand Cay is in the North East quad of the Abacos. NNW of Great Sale, and the Next Cay South East of Walkers. In fact many of the locals there used to work at Walkers while it was in its day. Looks like a good stop to use as a base for dinking.
Last week we paid 6.13 for diesel using a card at Lighthouse, and 16 something for 2.6 gallons of gas in the dink.

Fished around Grand Cay about 10 years ago. Had a great Green Turtle Steak dinner at Rosie's Place. Man, Scariest looking crew at Rosie's but turned out to be one of my favorite Memories. Bought a Green Turtle T-Shirt from a lady in a dark basment. Has Rosie's Place enbroidered on the sleeve. Its a long story but Ill go back some day.
Walkers was one of the cleanest Islands back then. I have lots of Video. Understand hurricanes did a number that Island.

Yeah, they got dealt a bad hand with the storms. Wish it was different.

Given lake Okeechobee levels are already falling quickly we may have to go the Southern route to get to the West coast this year, so we may skip Grand as a result taking the shortest route to Lucaya.
