Great trip so far but ran into some weather. Trip from home to Greenport, to Montauk to block was great. You could see Block from the moment we left Montak. Trip to Mystic was pea soup the whole way. Now we are riding out the storm as we were suppose to leave for Norwalk. If it breaks up, I may go over the Essex and join the rest of the folks for dinner at Griswalds and bag Norwalk. Doubt I'd get there before dark.

Keep you eyes on the radar and weather forecasts, looks like a line of storms coming through. Calling for more thunderstorms tomorrow.

Just made it home from port Jeff ahead of this mess. Man I'm glad we didn't go anchor at watch hill ri like we planned.

Tornado warning for Block until 9PM.

Hank, if you stay in Mystic, eat at the Daniel Packer Inn, it's fantastic - MUCH better than the Gris.

Had dinner there last night. Excellent. Left Mystic for Essex when the storm broke. Rough ride over. Took a lot of spray up top. Had dinner at Griswalds. Party of 18. Hopefully we will head home in the morning if weather allows.

Glad you made to Essex safely! It was a great group here and I too have had a great vacation sorry it's coming to an end. Eight days and if I could I would spend another week or two!
Port Washington one night
Mystic two nights
Greenport one night
Montauk one night
Block two nights
Essex two nights (this was one hell of a storm that rolled through here)
One night left weather permitting I think I will spend another night in Port Washington but this time on a mooring.

Back safely in my slip. An amazing trip with a great group. Looking forward to our next adventure.

Dave, Mike - your secret is out. I am tied up on a t-head with John (JMeirhofer). I was in his cockpit when a storm came through. WTF is it with that radar arch and leaks? :-)

We missed most of the nasty weather today it rained almost all day but not hard other then 1st thing this morning. The sun came out for a few hours this afternoon. We had no direct lightning near us and I think I only heard a few distant thunder boomers. Friday was a different story hear really nasty until about 1PM.
Dave & Mike I'm liking practically living on the boat this season. If I had a washer dryer installed I'm not sure we would be going home much.

It was a stupid design to build the arch so that it leans forward, water pools up and has no way to drain off the arch. I am seriously considering having my cut this winter and tilted towards the stern.

Don't bother mine is already tilted stern I don't think it makes a difference. Mine doesn't leak from there but around the sides it was a poor design I have a plan for when I redo me top that should work out well. Even with the leaks there are very few boats in this size that I like as much!

This has been a great trip I was out ten nights in all and had a good time in every Port some more then others but that is just life.

The mooring was really kicking yesterday when I got to Port Washington I wasn't sure we would make it through the night but we went out for dinner and when we come back the water had really laid down and I slept like a baby. Had a nice ride home clean the boat and left to make sure my house was still standing being I left my son home to take care of things like the dogs. I happy to say the dogs are still alive and the house looks great. He knows better than to through any parties I have cameras everywhere:)

I came back to eight garbage bags that were all rattling. If my girls weren't perfect angels, I'd swear that there was a party while we were gone.

I have to hook you up with some cameras! The alarm was only phase one:)

That won't work. They'll just spray paint over the lenses.

I almost to post this, it was a first for me to come across while underway.
I was just outside Mystic I'm guess this is common for locals but not where I come from.

Good thing that wasnt in my way headed across from Block. It would have been the second Naval incident in a week. BTW, how does a Navy vessel cut in front of a tanker and collide? It goes to prove that you cant trust anyone out there.
