Anyone know of where there are some decent anchorages? We are intending to go to TrawlerFest in June. Figure it may get tight in the harbor area.
If you have any locations can you be specific as to to GPS numbers or better yet, put them on Active Capt.

thanks

Deering Harbor on Shelter Island is directly across from Greenport. There are moorings available there and you can take the ferry across or use your dingy to get into Greenport. Also around the east side of Shelter Island is Coecles Harbor with a marina (by the same name) or an anchorage. Much further however to get to Greenport. In Greenport there are several marinas other than the town marina where Trawlerfest will be held. There is Townsends, Stirling Harbor and a Brewers marina. Hope this helps.

Anchorage near greenport east of breakwater and also northeast of bug lite.
What's the trawlerfest NEED INFO.

Thanks. I figured east was a good anchorage. Just was not sure of the runabouts churning up the water.

As for Trawler Fest. This is a new location as it used to be staged in Ct. It should be a big hit as many have never gone to Greenport before.

Just hope the fuel prices keep dropping. Election year, so most likely. Anyone want to bet on that?
