Not sure what folks are up to, but I just got an email from Trudy at Moores and their Halloween party is on Sat night the 1st, and the band will be Firestorm. I'm sure it will be great. We at Oxbow are having a private party Fri night, and if we are not in too bad a shape, will do Moores on Sat. Should be a great, but long, weekend! 2 years back we went to Tower Park and it was a GREAT party! Don't know what their plan is this year.

Any other good Halloween parties we should all discuss??

The sacriest costume this year will be the Obama mask!

Hey Hogan,

I use to have a SunRunner 230 - it was a great boat - very sexy lines and appointments. Bought it new in '83 and had it for about 10 years in AZ - named Sanity. Really good memories...

I'm on my fourth one:

220CV
245SB
280 Classic
380 SunBridge

they made a great boat at a reasonable price, I guess that's why they couldn't stay in business.

Just about all the usual party spots have Halloween Parties on the weekend of Halloween. On Bethel Island there will parties on Friday night. This is usually the last hurrah for the Delta. After that some places close and others cut back their hours of operation. The sleepy Delta winter begins and only true river rats go boating! It can be a great time of year for boating, but call ahead before planning to eat out.

Well. Moores on Sat wasn't too bad... not many boats made it. In fact right up until we were leaving rb2@gr5t 2 on Sat were we not sure we would go. It did rain most of the way from Bethel Island to Moores, but the forcasted winds never came. It was a good evening, dinner around 7:30, the band started at 9. Between time in Moores and the gatherings on a couple different boats, it made for a great weekend.

We returned to Bethel Island Sunday and went to the Port Hole for breakfast.

We had a halloween party on friday night and there was about 6 boats that were going to head over to Moores, but after friday night - we were so burned out we stayed an had a dock BBQ! The rain was a nice change - not too cold and not too much - it felt good! I think Moores is closed now for the season - pretty sure. I think they open for New Years, but for the most part, like Flutter says, it's just a few of us river rats around and not enought to support too many places.

Ill be there!

Moore's usually open for New Year's Eve and then closes down again until March when they have a big celebration for St Patrick's Day! The three watering holes with docks at Bethel Island usually stay open with reduced hours throughout the winter. They rely on fishermen and locals for business. But call ahead to confirm hours of operation and whether or not the kitchen is open!
