Heads up on gas prices

The simple answer is that diesel costs more than gasoline because the demand for diesel in contries like China and India is so much greater than it was three or four years ago.

You're welcome and thanks back to y'all ; the info on this board has been very helpful in our trip planning. We hope to stick our nose up the Hudson for a couple days this week, then up LIS next weekend and on to Massachusetts by the 4th.

The price of Diesel has more than doubled in a year's time, and, unfortunately, it's probably not done yet. Did China and India double their usage over the winter?????
 
Perhaps they are the ones holding the futures on oil. Don't forget China has been on a tear buying up contracts for everything natural.

Gas At Haverstraw $4.67.9

Haverstraw now charging $5.00 to pump out unless you buy gas or are a member.
 
Knew that was coming. There are lots & lots of open slips this year. They must be taking a beating! Bet it will be worse next year. Just this weekend alone I talked to 5 people who are looking to sell their boats.
 
Why are marinas pumping 89 octane as opposed to 87. Don't most gas boats only require 87?
 
Yeah, the time to get out of boating would have been a couple of years ago.
 
Get ready for more boats dumping in the river. IMO if there is no nearby safe dumping zone (3 miles off shore) then they should not be able to charge. I guess this time I am lucky for having a slip there.
 
they should be reported to nysdec and the coast guard. if they received funds to build the facility they may not be allowed to charge

Charging for a pump out..... Thats rediculous. Lots of places try that but few succeed.
 
Just get .25 worth of gas, and the pump out is free.

Don't forget to tip the dock boys, it's not their fault that the marina is trying to squeeze more money out of us.
 
Sounds like they will turning the pump out off when they close at night. That sucks.

Glad we still have our pump out boat.

Rondout Yacht Basin charges. But we have free wifi. By the way if you put a for sale sign in your car the owner will demand 10 percent. Seriously. He came after me with a loud voice once for that...
