Heater hose

Got my new water heater but at a loss as to what hose to use for the engine coolant.
Currently the hose is 1/2" exhaust hose but I don't have the time to order this from the USA (I'm in the Marshall's). Can I use just rubber hose? Anything else suitable for this?

Any good quality reinforced automotive water heater hose will work fine. Wet exhaust hose used for a water heater is overkill in my opinion.

Yes, automotive heater hose works well, and is your best bet.
