Hello all, I have a 1987 2757 Montego. The sliding hatch that goes into the cabin has always been heavy and hard to slide. It's gotten worse over the years. I know Carver changed the door on the 88 models to lighter hidged hatch. Looks like it had rollers or something on it but there is nothing left. Has anyone had any experience with this model and know of any fix for it.
Thanks Terry

Terry,
Is it possible they used felt (the fuzzy stuff) like you see on a traditional sliding glass door? If so, it should be an easy fix to replace it in the tracks.

Thanks aholst1, never thought of that. I just thought it had rollers, I'll check into that. Thanks

The factory replaced (most) of the sliding doors with the newer hinged top on all of the boats we sold. The sliding top is actually on platic glides rather than rollers and was hard to use right from the start. I would suggest either taking one of the glides to a store to match it, or remove it and make yourself a bifold flip top out of teak or some other material to eliminate the hassle.

Thanks Kenny, I think I'll just make a new flip top like you suggest. Thanks Terry
