I have heard about this before how do they contact you to let you know you can purchase the pictures. Do they look you up based on the name? I would think this would be difficult useless the boat is documented, I don't think my boat name is filed anywhere. Or do they hail you on the radio and tell you where to find the pictures.
In the case of the one at the lake they had the name of the website on the helicoptor. You just had to look it up when you got home. You didn't get to see the pictures until they sent them to you. Here is the website to give you an idea.
Yeah, BoatPix ain't cheap, but they do take some very nice pictures. Just beware that they own the copyrights to the pictures so be careful where you post them.
Hogan those are some nice shots of my boat What happened to the dink did you hit a wake and loose it or did they catch you twice? Where were you when they were taken and how did you know where to get them?
They get the name or state numbers and track you down, Boat-pix & Yacht-shots seem to be the 2 players on the east coast
I’m a client of http://yacht-shots.com/ and have been happy with their service, better priced than BoatPix
Like most of these companies You can go to their site and see if they have shots of your boat
There used to be an organization called Paparazzi H2O that used to take pictures of the boats in the bay from a speed boat. Does anybody know if they are still in operation?
There is a small private helicopter company around here that gives helicopter rides during fairs and big local events.
They have a small helicopter that takes air shots of land and water events that you can purchase from their website.
